Dentistry |
Dental disease is the most common disease affecting pets in Hong Kong. We have the latest im3 dental carts and high quality hand instruments. Severe dental cases may be referred to Dr Gerry at our Tuen Mun clinic. This clinic has dental radiography as well as the capacity to perform advanced dental procedures. |
|
Digital Radiography (Xray) |
Most clinics in Hong Kong have the standard film based xray developing systems. Digital xray systems utilize a computer and digital xray detector and give unparalleled diagnostic quality. In addition, there is also a safety benefit for your pet as less xrays are required to generate digital pictures and often a fewer number of xrays pictures need to be taken. |
|
Ultrasonography |
Diagnostic ultrasound has progressed more rapidly than any other area of veterinary investigation over the past 10 years. This is due purely to the advancements in the quality of the ultrasound machines available. Our clinic has a Esoate Mylab 30, a top of the range unit. It is used primarily for investigation of diseases of the abdomen and chest/heart. Dr Ken Thorley has postgraduate training in ultrasonography, so your pet may be referred to him for this procedure.

Cardiology |
We are able to assess heart function using echocardiography, digital radiography, ECG, pulse oximetry, and blood pressure measurement. Echocardiography uses advanced doppler imaging to look inside the heart and measure blood flow through the heart's chambers and valves. We can treat cardiac problems medically or, in some cases, we have corrected the problem with heart surgery.

|
Endoscopy |
Endoscopes are long flexible cameras that can be used to look inside the body without the need of surgery. Our clinic has several sizes of endoscope, suitable for investigating the windpipe/lungs, stomach and intestine. They are particularly useful for retrieving foreign objects from the food pipe and stomach. They can also be used to take tissue samples (biopsies) from the intestine without the need of an operation. |
|
Hospital Services |
Hospitalized animals are housed in stainless steel cages which allow hygienic conditions to be maintained. There is no direct contact between animals in hospital. Heating pads are available as required. Animals being given intravenous fluids have fluid rates controlled by Heska infusion pumps. These pumps control accurately the fluid flow, which is especially important in small animals and the critically ill. |
 |
Cat Ward |
This hospital ward is for cats only. No dogs are allowed in it, so that cats do not feel threatened by the presence, smell or sounds of their enemies. It is a quiet and relaxing room, providing a stress free environment for hospitalised cats. |
 |
Oxygen Supplementation |
Oxygen cages and nasal oxygen tubes are available for critical animals with respiratory / heart disorders. The clinics have a piped oxygen system allowing unlimited oxygen therapy. |
 |
Isolation Area |
Animals with potentially infectious diseases are kept separated from the main hospital area to reduce the risk of disease transmission. |
 |
Critical Care |
Our Yuen Long emergency Hospital has staff present 24/7. It is the only 24 hour Emergency Hospital in the New Territories.
Critically ill animals from our branch clinics and animals referred from other clinics in the area are constantly monitored overnight , providing the best possible hospital care.
